Joyce Laverne Cunningham

Joyce L. Cunningham, 70, of Topeka passed away at her home on April 21, 2020.  She was born June 23, 1949 in Caruthersville, Missouri, one of nine children born to Clyde and Eva Overshon Cunningham.  Joyce was raised at Blytheville, Arkansas.  She lived most of her adult life in Topeka except for a period of time when she lived in Hutchinson.

Joyce had attended Family Life Church of the Nazarene with her sister Virginia.  She enjoyed watching birds come to her bird feeder and especially enjoyed the Cardinals.  Watching John Wayne westerns was one of her favorite ways to spend time.  She also was a big fan of the Royals and Chiefs.  Christmas was her favorite holiday and she enjoyed putting out Christmas decorations every year.

She is survived by five children, Terry Lynn, Diane (Ryan) Grose, Roger, Randy and Rhonda; one brother, David Cunningham; and her sister and caregiver, Virginia Ensley, and sister Mary Cunningham.   Eleven grandchildren also survive.

Private family graveside services will be held at Rochester Cemetery.  She will lie in state from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26 ^th at the Davidson Funeral Home.  To leave the family a message, please visit www.davidsonfuneral.com.
