Jovanna I. Vink

Jovanna I. Vink, 45, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 after a 16-month battle with cancer.

Jovanna was born in Panama City, Panama on April 26, 1975. She graduated with a B.A. in psychology from La Universidad de Santa Maria Antigua in Panama City. She later attended the University of Arizona in Tucson where she met Scot Vink. They were married in Tucson on August 2nd, 2002. Jovanna had lived in Topeka since 2004.

She was most recently employed by the Villages, Inc. in Topeka as a case manager and received her Master’s degree in psychology from Washburn University in 2015.

Jovana was an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and was a member of the Madonna Guild. She enjoyed dining out, watching movies and shopping with friends and family. She was an amazing wife and mother, taking the time to plan parties and attend her son’s sporting events. She was interested in the lives of those around her and always had the time to listen to friends and family alike. She was loved by everyone who crossed her path.

Survivors include her husband, Scot Vink; her son, Evan Vink; her mother Mercedes Forero; her brother, Giovanni Oro; and aunt Edylsa Forero and cousin, Miguel Arguelles.

Jovanna was preceded in death by her father, Fidel Oro; grandmother, Marta Montilla and grandfather, Luis Felipe Forero.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 at St. Matthews Catholic Church.   The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service.  The service will be live-streamed at the Davidson Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page.
