Josephine A. Scully
PERRY ~ Josephine A. Scully, 70, Perry, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at her home. She was born May 12, 1933, in Lawrence, the daughter of Walter and Katherine Hooper Tornedon. A resident of Perry for 43 years, she worked for Hamm Quarries as a scale operator and dispatcher for 15 years before retiring. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She married Robert L. Scully, on Dec. 31, 1953, in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors are a daughter, Roxanne Anderson, Larned; a son, Roscoe Scully, Perry; five grandsons; a brother, Jack Tornedon, Kansas City, Kan.; and a sister, Bertha Lehney, Topeka. A son, Rodney Lee Scully, preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Parker-Price Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry. Josephine Scully will lie in state after 3 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 N.W.
