Joseph Dean Alexander

Joseph “Joe” D. Alexander, age 70 of Perry passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017 near Lawrence. Joe was born July 8, 1946 in Seneca, KS the son of Floyd and Blanche Murdock Alexander. He grew up in Centralia, graduating from Centralia High School in 1964. He married Patricia Forgy November 6, 1965 in Centralia. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1965 – 1971, where he received the Bronze Star. Joe worked for Henry Manufacturing in Topeka, Hamm’s Asphalt and later LRM in Lawrence. Joe was a member of the Perry American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping and trips to the Colorado mountains with the family. He was preceded in death by a son, John Damian Alexander in 1977 and a son in law, Dustin Roberts in 2015. Joe is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Patricia of Perry; three sons, Robert (Lori) Alexander of Ozawkie, Wayne (Lisa) Alexander of Oskaloosa and Jeff (Racheal) Alexander of Ozawkie; two daughters, Laura (Larry) Wright of Meriden and Cindy Roberts of Perry; a brother, Eugene Alexander of Topeka; a sister, Joyce Pardee of Topeka; 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williamstown Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow at the Corning Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Davidson Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses. davidsonfuneral.com.
