Joleen Rai Kirk

Joleen Rai Kirk, 60, of Wamego, passed away on February 2, 2023 at the KU Medical Center.

Joleen was born on April 28, 1962 to Clarence and Goldie (Boyce) Faunce in Temple, Texas.

Joleen graduated from Holton High School. On July 10, 1983 married Rick Kirk. Together they had 2 children. Later they divorced but still remained close friends.

Joleen worked as a registered nurse for Parkview Hospital now known as Stormont Vail West. She served the families of many adolescent children and teens across the Kansas area for over 20 years. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Wamego and was so thankful to be able to watch online services when she could. In her spare time she was an avid Words With Friends competitor with many. Joleen loved to spend time with her grandchildren and family any chance she could. She also spent her time looking out her window at her humming bird feeder, watching all the birds come in. Joleen also appreciated her daughter planting her Mexican Sunflowers and regular sunflowers for her to enjoy. Lastly, Joleen was also known for giving Rick a hard time every now and again, just to keep their friendship alive.

Joleen is survived by her children, Jessica Henson and Sam Kirk; siblings Linda Ratliff, Sue Newberry, Jim (Diane) Faunce, and Amy Carter; grandchildren, Ayden Henson, Wyatt Baldwin, Noah Kirk, Allyson Kirk, Baylie Henson, and Theo Kirk; and her close friend, Rick Kirk.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home. Memorial service will be Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home.
