Johnny C. Lindstrom, 74, of Silver Lake, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025. He was born April 26, 1950, in Topeka the son of James Harvey Lindstrom and Gladys Marie Koelling. Johnny grew up in Silver Lake and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1968 as class valedictorian. While in high school Johnny, not only excelled in academics but athletics as well. He may be the only student-athlete from Silver Lake to letter in 5 sports in one year; football, baseball, basketball, track and field, and golf. He continued his education at Washburn University where he graduated in 1972, with a Bachelors of Mathematics and Physics. While attending Washburn, he held a full-time position at Goodyear Tire and worked there for 36 years.
He married his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Beverly Gail Huske on May 14, 1971. They had two boys together, Bryan and Brad. Johnny and Bev loved to take weekend vacations with their close family, and spend time with their grandkids together. They also loved attending First Baptist Church of Silver Lake every Sunday morning together.
Johnny found the most joy in coaching his boys in baseball and basketball. He loved all things outdoors: farming, ranching, hunting, golfing, helping his friends or family any way he could. He had some of his best memories taking Bryan and Brad, and his nephews, Derek and Damon Thompson, golfing and then coming home to play Pitch. He was always outside working on new projects. He was known for his problem-solving skills, and being able to fix anything for anyone who would stop by. He spent numerous weekends out on the farm with his sons and nephews, working cows and having “weenie roasts”. He was an avid Kansas State fan, and loved to take his sons and grandkids to games, when they didn’t have games themselves. He never missed one of his grandkid’s games, and loved watching his sons follow in his coaching footsteps.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Beverly; son Brad Lindstrom (Jessica); daughter in law Beth Lindstrom; grandchildren Tagen, Jacob, Brooke, and Jaymeson Lindstrom; and siblings Judy Barker, Jimmy and Jack Lindstrom (Karen).
Johnny joins his late son, Bryan Lindstrom; and his parents James and Gladys Lindstrom.
