John Prock Lehman passed away on March 26, 2025, at the age of 71 in Topeka, KS. He was born on April 20, 1953, in Muskogee, OK, to Bill Lawrence Lehman and Helen Francis Lehman.
John graduated from Topeka West High School in 1971 and went on to earn his degree from Washburn University in 1975. Throughout his life, he cultivated a wide range of interests that reflected his love for the outdoors, creativity, and companionship.
An avid hunter and enthusiastic Volksmarch participant, John found joy in nature and staying active. He had a deep appreciation for gardening, growing a variety of fruits and vegetables with care. His passion for cooking was well known among those close to him—especially his talent for breadmaking. A devoted reader, he enjoyed books across all genres but held a special fondness for Louis L'Amour westerns and various battles/wars.
John’s affection for animals was evident in his lifelong love of dogs, particularly his cherished Rat Terrier, Spiff. He also loved to travel and treasured time spent with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lawrence Lehman and Helen Francis Lehman; his brother, Larry Lehman; and his sister, Annie Nashert (Lehman). He is survived by his sons, Joshua Lehman and Samuel Lehman; and his grandson, Gabriel Lehman.
John’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched with his generous spirit. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
