John Junior Haid, 78, Topeka, passed away Wed., Oct. 31, 2007 at Midland Hospice House. John was born Nov. 12, 1928 in Louisville, KS, the son of John and Emily (Fields) Haid.
He married Helen Leah Wagoner on June 14,1950. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2006.
John served as an Army Sergeant during the Korean Conflict, Jan.1952 to Oct.1953.
John retired from the City of Topeka Water Pollution Control.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #400.
John is survived by two daughters, Donna Reiff and her husband, Maurice; Marj Boyd and her husband, John and two sons, Johnnie R. and Marvin L. Haid all of Topeka; 5 brothers, Delbert Haid and Clyde Haid of Topeka; Elton Haid, Lawrence and Glenn Haid, Meriden; Ronald Haid (deceased); 3 sisters, Elsie Kopp and Donna Moore, of Topeka and Edna DeMotte, Bonner Springs; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sat., Nov. 3, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 N.W. Independence. Interment to follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. John will lie in state after 2:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral chapel where family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
