John Richard Faurot, 75, of Topeka, passed away on July 16, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital.
He was born on January 31, 1947 to John and Leone (Stoft) Faurot in Iowa.
John married Carolyn Faurot (Hurst) in Independence, Missouri. Together they traveled the world for his military career all while raising two sons. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2007.
John graduated from high school and went straight into the military. He started his military career with the United States Air Force for 4 years then joined the United States Army, serving 16 years before retiring with honorable discharge, serving a total of 20 years.
John loved to travel, RV'ing, specifically traveling to Mustang Island with his wife. He was an active volunteer for the Topeka Veterans Association, cleaning parks, serving meals, and working with the Life Enrichment Center to help veterans through their tough times. Christmas was his favorite holiday, being with all of his family and grandchildren. John will be remembered for his positive outlook and kind heart.
On July 30, 2020, he married Sharon Faurot (Deen), where they shared an intimate ceremony in Ozark, Missouri. Together they blended their family and joined as one. They shared a happy two years full of love and adventure.
John is survived by loving wife, Sharon; son, Michael (Earlina) Faurot; grandchildren, Tyler Faurot and Andrew Faurot; he will also be remembered by his grandchildren that were acquired by his marriage, Troy, Natalie, Trinity, Allison, Neo, and Ryan Allison.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dana Faurot; his loving wife of over 40 years, Carolyn; and both of his parents.
John will have a private family inurnment with full military honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
