John Stevens Bloomquist

John S. Bloomquist, Jr., 71, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020.   He was born March 19, 1949 in Topeka the son of John and Margaret “Peg” Bloomquist.   John served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam.   He had worked at Industrial Chrome for over 20 years before retiring.

He married the love of his life, Kathleen “Kat” on June 21, 1997 at the Osage County State Lake.

Survivors include his wife, “Kat” Bloomquist of Topeka; daughters, Christine Crays, Tamy Bloomquist, Renee Bloomquist, all of Topeka; stepchildren, Michelle Hodges-Ryan of Topeka, Trace Freeman and husband Dennis of Topeka, Tasha Lara and husband Mike of Havensville, Travis Ross and wife Carrie of Wheaton, Kansas, Tyler Ross and wife Nicole of Bern, Kansas, and Takla Lundberg and husband Nathan of Wamego; sister, Connie Adams of Topeka; 16 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great granddaughter and one step-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3rd at Davidson Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held at the Union Cemetery in Osage City at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, June 4, 2020.   His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.    Memorial contributions may be made to the John Bloomquist, Jr. Memorial Fund in care of Capitol Federal Savings Bank.
