OBITUARY: Jimmie B. Lacy
Jimmie B. Lacy, 102, Topeka, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Brewster Health Center. He was born January 10, 1911, in Miami, Oklahoma, the son of Henry and Anna (Sietz) Lacy.
During World War II, Jimmie served in the U.S. Army infantry in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge. After being discharged in 1944, he returned to Joplin, Missouri.
In 1951, Jimmie and his family moved to Topeka, where he and his wife, Alma, opened the Lacy Auto Supply. He operated the store until 1968.
Jimmie was a member of First United Methodist Church, Philip Billard Post # 1650, V.F.W., Golden Rule Lodge # 90, AF & AM, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, and Arab Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Alma (Inglis) Lacy; and his son, Jimmie Dale Lacy.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Ann Lacy of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina; his long-time companion, Willna Zweifel, and her family; five grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 13, 2013, at Brewster Health Center's Fink Living Room. Private interment in Lake Cemetery, Lamar, Missouri.
