Jim Rickson

Jim E. Rickson, 54, of Mayetta, Kansas passed away on April 1, 2023.     He was born November 1, 1968 at Topeka the son of Jack and Linda Westfall Rickson.    He graduated from Silver Lake High School where he played football, baseball and wrestled.   Jim was a carpenter by trade and was a building contractor in several different states in the Midwest.    He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He spent many hours doing this with his boys and his friends on his 20 acres where he lived. Jim lived a simple life that he loved.  He will be remembered as someone who put everyone else first and was glad to give a helping hand to friends and family, always taking care of others.

He is survived by his two sons, Dalton Rickson and Davin Rickson both of Topeka; his dad, John “Jack” E. Rickson of Wichita; his sister Wendi Horak and husband Terry of Topeka; niece, Chelsea Williams; nephews, Thatcher, Tucker, Torrey and Tayson.

A memorial service for Jim will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church Silver Lake.    Inurnment will be held later at Walnut Hill Cemetery north of Silver Lake.  Memorial contributions may be made to either Dalton Rickson or to Davin Rickson. www.davidsonfuneral
