Jerry Eugene Best, Sr., 69, of Haskell, OK, formerly of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011.
He was born in Topeka, KS the son of Paul Alexander Best and Mildred Louise Brown Best. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Best is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Sandra Kay whom he married on Dec. 8, 1967 and she passed away in 2005, a brother and a sister. He is survived by wife, Deborah of the home; a son, Jerry Best, Jr.; a daughter Kimberly Rose, both of Topeka; a sister, Mary Lou Roseberry also of Topeka; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Half-Day Cemetery, Elmont, KS.
