Jeffrey William Treiber
Jeffrey William Treiber, 58, Topeka, died Thursday, October 26, 2017, at his home. He was born October 7, 1959, in Topeka, the son of Maurice James and Erma Jane (Tucker) Treiber.
"Coop" graduated from Seaman High School in 1977, and from Kaw Valley Vo-Tech in 1987. He had worked for NAPA Auto Parts, Drive Train Inc., and HME. He raced modified Midgets at Topeka Raceway. He enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR racing. He loved fishing and spending time with his dog, Molly, but most of all his family.
Jeff was married to Lori Jane Skinner on April 23, 1983, at Meriden. They later divorced. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice James Treiber, Jr., on March 21, 1999.
Surviving are three children: Trevor William Treiber of Topeka, Tanner James Treiber of Lawrence, and Taylor Jane Treiber (Tyler Martinak) of Topeka; his mother: Erma Jane Treiber of Topeka; siblings: Mike Treiber (Susan) of Topeka, Joie Haverkamp (Darren) of Berryton, and Julie Schmidtlein (Brian) of Topeka; ten nieces and nephews; a great-niece; and a great-nephew.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 3, 2017, at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church, Meriden. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM, Friday, at the Church. Private interment of cremains will be in Saint Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Meriden.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka.
