Jeannette Lorene Posten

Jeannette Lorene Posten, 82, Topeka, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. She was born October 9, 1933, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Martha Edith Evelyn (Scott) and John William Tritle, Sr.

Jeannette graduated from Wyandotte High School of Kansas City, KS, in 1951. She retired from Westbrook Baptist Church of Hutchinson in 1996 after 19 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hutchinson.

After residing in Hutchinson, KS, for many years they relocated to Topeka in 1996.

Jeannette was married to Glen Cress Posten, Jr. on June 5, 1953, in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Martha Cowan.

Surviving are a son: Phil Posten (Cindy Halpain Posten) of Topeka; grandsons: John Posten of Fort Collins, CO and Matthew Posten of Saint Joseph, MI; siblings: John Tritle, Jr. of Kansas City, KS, and Marilyn Harris-Goertz (Delbert) of Wichita; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka.

The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel at 10:00 AM, prior to the funeral service.
