Jean Viergever, 98 ½ , passed away on July 27, 2022 at Midland Hospice after a short illness.
Jean was born January 5, 1924 the daughter of Edward and Clara Ekart.
She graduated from Silver Lake High School. She married Bill Jeffries on December 24, 1941. They had one daughter Betty Jean.
Jean and Bill raised English Pointers and she was a true animal lover. She was also an avid gardener and canned her own vegetables. Bill and Jean were married 49 ½ years until his death. She later married Walter Viergever on August 10, 1994. They shared 17 wonderful years together until his death.
She worked for American Home Life Insurance for 32 years and remained close with her co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her daughter.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Bill (Carolyn) and Suzette (Mack); great grandchildren, Liane (Josh), Brad (Kristen), Jeff (Danielle), Willie (Abby), and Kendall (AJ); great great grandchildren, Hayley, Jaiden, Addison, Amaya, Harvey, Warren, and Baker.
Family will greet friends from 9:00 am – 10:00 am, Saturday, July 30, 2022 with funeral service to follow at 10:00 am at Parker Price Funeral Home. Jean will be buried at Dover Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake United Methodist Church or to Midland Hospice.
