OBITUARY: Jean Ann (Wyatt) Irish
Jean Ann (Wyatt) Irish, 55, Topeka, went home on Wed., Dec. 1, 2010. She was born Nov. 19, 1955, in Manhattan. Jean was married to Clarence L. Irish, on Sept. 7, 1972. Surviving are her husband: Clarence; daughters Rebecca Ann (Irish) Flores and Tracey Lynn Irish-Mallon; 3 grandchildren: Alicia Irish, Araceli Flores, and Mariela Flores; a sister: Dolores Sams; 2 brothers: Herman Wyatt and Alex Wyatt; all from the Topeka area; and her mother: Betty J. Wagner of Auburn. Her father, Jack Wyatt, passed away when she was a teenager. Jean attended Highland Park High School. She worked for the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation for over 21 years. She loved her co-workers and her job. She attended and was an active member of the Topeka First Assembly of God. She loved helping with cooking and the children's ministry until her health declined. She so enjoyed hosting large family and friends' reunions. She was a great wife and best friend, mother, and grandmother. Only God knows how much she will be missed. A strong oak tree is only strong because of its foundation. Jean, you were mine and your family's foundation. Because of your faith, and strength in the Lord, you have won all of your battles. Love always, Clarence and your family. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Sat., Dec. 4, 2010, at Topeka First Assembly of God. Interment in Rochester Cemetery. Jean will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
