Jayne Rarrick

October 28, 1960 — January 28, 2024

Rita Jayne Jenson Rarrick was born on October 28, 1960 at Stormont Vail hospital in Topeka, KS. She passed away at Midland Care Hospice in Topeka, KS on January 28, 2024.

Jayne grew up on her parent’s farm 2 miles east of Denison, KS where she began a lifetime of participation in sports and survived at least one fall out of the barn.

Jayne graduated from Holton High School in 1978 and was a very proud graduate of Kansas State University in 1982. She was awarded the status of Certified Public Accountant in 1986. She served over 25 years with RadNet, Inc. as the Director of Financial Analysis and had many friendships that she valued greatly.

While enrolled as a scholarship athlete in 1979 at Central Christian College she met a fellow scholarship athlete, Steve Rarrick. A long courtship occurred and they were married on March 12, 1983. She is survived by their four children, Ashley, San Diego, CA, Kim, Las Vegas, NV, Michael, Hutchinson, KS and Emily, Topeka, KS. Other survivors include her brother, John Jenson (Deb), Leawood, KS, and three nephews, J. Alexander Jenson, Prairie Village, KS, Andrew Rieschick (Melinda), Topeka, KS, Justin Rieschick, Wichita, KS and dogs Chewy and Merlin of the home.

Jayne was preceded in death by husband Steve Rarrick, mother Rita Pierson Jenson, father John James Jenson, and sisters Jota Jenson and Jena Jenson Rieschick.

Jayne was an active member of the Topeka Bible Church that she appreciated greatly for nurturing her faith and the many friendships she developed there. Jayne was also an avid supporter of Kansas State University and a decades long season ticket holder of K-State Football. Jayne’s bible studies at Topeka Bible Church consistently revealed the relevance of scripture to current life, including the story of Moses and Bill Snyder who led K-State Football out of the wilderness to the promised land. Jayne’s competitive spirit remained through life making card and board games very enjoyable, particularly family cribbage games. One of her last acts on earth was a thorough trouncing of a nephew, who dared to claim being the family cribbage King.
