Jay Edward Snyder

Jay E. Snyder, age 84, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Lexington Park Care Home in Topeka. Jay was born December 22, 1933 in Topeka the son of Clarence and Josephine McFarren Snyder. He graduated from Highland Park High School. He married Karen Whittaker in 1970. She preceded him in death August 31, 2016. Jay worked and managed the former Collins Drive In and then the Kansas Turnpike Authority as a supervisor for over 20 years. Jay was a member of the Oakland Nazarene Church and the former Oakland Christian Church. Jay was preceded in death by a step son, Lyle Beaty. Jay is survived by a step son, Thomas (Denise) Beaty of Topeka; four step grandchildren; great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Tuesday from noon – 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Topeka Cemetery.
