OBITUARY: Jay E. Bond
Jay E. Bond, 92, Topeka, died Wed., June 6, 2012, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. Jay was born May 2, 1920, in Burlingame, the son of Emery Bond, Sr. and Lulu Bullock Bond. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Jay was a long-standing member of Northland Christian Church where he sang in the choir and served as Elder, as well as on the Church Board. He was employed at Salisbury Supply Co., Inc. from 1969 to 2010. Jay was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, and a grandson, Craig Bond. Papa will be dearly missed by his son and daughter-in-law: Alan and Cindy Bond of Nashville, TN; and grandchildren: Mark Bond, Bonnie Helgesen, and David Wells. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Sat., June 9, 2012, at Northland Christian Church. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Jay will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Fri., at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Northland Christian Church Music Dept., 3102 NW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66617.
