Jason Michael McNaughton, 31, of Topeka, was found October 17, 2008.
He was born May 8, 1977 in Camp Pendleton, CA the son of Alvin "Ray" and Patricia Ann (Coon) McNaughton. He attended State Street and Lyman Elementary Schools, Logan Junior High and graduated from Seaman High School in 1995. He attended Emporia State University. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, serving in the Air Force Honor Guard in Washington D.C. He worked for several years for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Topeka.
Jason married Cathy L. Wilson on November 27, 1998 in Wichita, KS. They have three children, Crystal Denise Wilson, Joshua Ira McNaughton, and Jacob John McNaughton. Jason's wife, Cathy, and his three children, Crystal, Josh and Jacob all survive him. Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bettie E. Coon and his paternal grandfather, Lawrence H. Lister. Jason is also survived by his father Alvin "Ray" McNaughton of Topeka; his mother and step-father, Patricia Ann and Marlin E. Wiltz of Silver Lake; his paternal grandmother Norma J. Lister of Topeka; his paternal grandfather, Charles W. Coon of Topeka; his paternal grandparents, Alvin L. and Carol McNaughton of South Carolina; his sister, Brandi M. Platt and her husband, Travis of Silver Lake, and his brother, Aaron C. McNaughton of Topeka; sisters, Kacey L. Wiltz of Topeka, Krystal D. Wiltz of Topeka, Angelique M. McNaughton of Lawrence, KS, Marla R. Larkin and her husband, Dennis of Topeka, Paula S. Hanes and her husband, Pete of Overbrook; and brother, Travis J. Wiltz of Wichita. Also surviving Jason is his mother-in-law, Connie Rice of Midwest City, OK; his grandmother-in-law, Mary Eubank of Topeka; his sister-in-law, Melinda Murray of New Mexico; brother-in-law, Jason Grandstaff of Midwest City, OK. Jason "what the what" will also hold a special place in the hearts of his nephews, Dawson D. Platt and Daylee C. Platt and his nieces Areya L. McNaughton, Destini D. Wilson. Jason is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Although Jason's life in years was short, the lives of those he touched was many.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. The casket will be closed. Interment with military honors will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
