Janet Lynn Wuerflein

Janet L. Thomas Wuerflein, 63, of Topeka, KS departed this life on Thursday, November 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

Janet was born March 14, 1961 in Topeka, KS to Donald B. and Dorothy M (Anderson) Thomas. She graduated from Topeka West High School in 1979. That same year she met the love of her life, Milford L. Wuerflein. In 1983, they welcomed a daughter, Shannon. Milford and Janet married in Topeka, KS in May of 1987. In 1991 she started a long career as a communication specialist in emergency services. Most recently she worked as a job coach for TARC. All of which she was proud of. Janet was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness. She has left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was also extremely funny. She was a woman of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. 

She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Matthew) Wilson. Her 4 grandchildren, Noah (Aurora) Anderson, Evan (Alyssa) McGilton, Hadleigh Grist, and Maximus Wilson. Two sisters, Sharon (Michael) Kiernan and Alicia (Michael) Beavers. Two brothers in laws, Clifford (Cindy) Wuerflein, Jerome (Gwen) Wuerflein. Two sisters in laws, Dawn (Micheal) Kaderabek, Tammy Wuerflein, one great grandson, and one on the way. She has numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Milford in January 2003 and her brother Scott Thomas in December 2021.

The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 4th at Parker Price and Davidson Funeral Home 245 NW Independence Ave. Topeka, KS. Service will begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave. Topeka, KS 66606. A reception back at Parker Price and Davidson Funeral Home will follow the graveside service.
