Janet H. Blanchard (aka Nana Jan), 77, Topeka, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022 at a local hospital surrounded by her family.
Janet was born March 15, 1945 in Providence, RI, the daughter of Ralph and Harriet (Lister) Shove. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1963.
She was employed as a Customer Service Representative with Kaw Valley Bank for over 20 years and later worked for Seaman School District as a food service worker.
She enjoyed Solitaire, canning, baking and spending summers at Lake Perry camping with her husband.
Janet married Richard Blanchard on September 11, 1965 in Topeka. Her husband of 57 years survives. Other survivors include daughters, Michelle Cody (Dan Tuell), Jenny Armstrong (Jeff); grandchildren, Chance Cody (Amanda), Lanee, Ellie, and Rylan Armstrong; sister, Shirley Moore (Clifford); three nephews, Damon Moore, Bryon and Jason Shove; and heart daughter, Brandi Burd (Brian).
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Shove.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023, Garfield Shelter House,1600 NE Quincy St, Topeka, KS 66608, 11 am to 2:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hand Humane Society.
