James Bradley Sykes, age 37 of Silver Lake, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at his home. James was born January 25, 1982 in Manhattan, Kansas the son of Marty and Joyce Sykes. James graduated from Parkway Christian High School in Katy, Texas. James worked many construction and carpentry jobs and loved working with wood. His latest project was making little kids rocking motorcycles. James could “fix” most things and was never afraid to try. James loved animals and children and the great outdoors. He always stuck up for the underdog and although not a big man he would protect others from being bullied.
James is survived by his parents, Marty (Brenda) Sykes and Joyce (Dennis) Stover; his brother, William (Mandy) Sykes and their children, Emma and Nathan; his girlfriend, Madilyn Rook and her sons, Zachary and Vincent; step siblings, Danielle (Rob) Rhodes and their children, Zoe, Jadyn, Corbin, Caleb; Darcy (Lei) Willyard, Daniel Stover, Rachel (Jerrod) Hunt and their son, Wayne, as well as other family and friends.
Memorial services will be Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Silver Lake First Baptist Church in Silver Lake. The family would like to thank each of you for taking the time to come celebrate the life of James Sykes. Thank you for the part you played in his life.
