James Dwight Snyder

James “Jim” “Joe” D. Snyder, age 64, of Topeka passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital. Jim was born December 16, 1954 in Scott City, KS the son of James and Marietta (Lintel) Snyder. He graduated from Osborne High School in 1972. He then attended Fort Hays State University and graduated from Goodland Vo Tech with an electrical technician degree. He married Avis Starke, they later divorced. He married Tammy Banks, they later divorced. Jim owned and operated JDS Computer Services in Topeka. Jim enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He always loved animals and children. He also enjoyed listening to oldies music. Jim was a very patient man with a unique sense of humor.

Jim is survived by two sons, Andy (Larissa) Snyder of McKinney, Texas and Alec Snyder of Tulsa, OK; two stepsons, Kevin Banks of Bixby, OK and Dustin Pratt of Durango, CO; a daughter, Karissa (Cody) Tinnell of Lake Tahoe, CA; a stepdaughter, Kristine Pratt of Tulsa, OK; two brothers, Von (Candy) Snyder of La Vergne, TN and Vance (Kim) Snyder of Seattle, WA; a sister, Jenny (Bill) Prichard of Topeka; three grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Davidson Funeral Home. He will lie in state Thursday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
