James Raymond McBee
James Raymond McBee, 70, Topeka, died, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. He was born April 19, 1944, in Topeka, the son of Harold Raymond and Marguerite Elizabeth (Lewis) McBee.
Jim graduated from Dawson Grade School and Highland Park High School. He worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Shops for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He worked part-time for Solid State Sonics and Electronics. He enjoyed Ham Radio and was a member of the Kaw Valley Amateur Radio Club; and was a founding and life-time member of Topeka Bowhunters Club. Jim enjoyed machine work and had his own welding and machine shop; and in his earlier years enjoyed stock car racing.
Jim was married to Connie E. Bishop on January 9, 1968, in Topeka.
Surviving are his wife: Connie McBee of the home; son: Hal McBee (Jennifer) of Tecumseh; and twin sisters: Bonnie Apodaca and Connie Lueth (Wilbert) all of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dorothy Zimmerman and Mary Streeter.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Private interment of cremains will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka.
