James A. Okerlund

James "Jim" A. Okerlund, age 70, of Topeka, passed away from a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Jim was born July 14, 1950 in Smethport, PA to Donald and Ruth (Bernard) Okerlund. He graduated from Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma. Jim married Jill Schinnerer (now Paglione), they later divorced. Jim worked as a carpenter through his life and later at Lowe's in Topeka. Jim enjoyed gardening, going to auctions and cooking.

Jim is preceded in death by his best friend and loving father, Don. He is survived by his mother, Ruth, of Las Vegas, NV; his longtime companion, Lynda Pollman of Topeka, KS; two sons, Jason (Abby Waldon) Okerlund of Evergreen, CO and Joseph (Katie) Okerlund of Edmond, OK; four grandchildren, Morgan, Isabela, Carson and Alyssa; and a brother Tom (Cynde) Okerlund of Las Vegas, NV.
