James Lee "Jim Bob" Klein

James Lee Klein aka “Jim Bob”, age 87, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Midland Hospice Care. Jim was born March 11, 1931 in Topeka the son of Paul and Vera Shoemaker Klein. Jim graduated from Topeka High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Shirley Joyce Anderson. She preceded him in death November 30, 2017. Jim worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for over 30 years. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #400 and the Rubber Workers Union #307 in Topeka. He was an avid golfer. Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Klein.

He is survived by a son, J.P. Klein of Silver Lake; three daughters, Kim (Kevin) Weems of Topeka, Trisha Klein of Topeka and Diana (Robert) Gulley of Rossville; a sister-in-law Regina Klein of Sabetha; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Celebration of life services and lunch will be Monday, August 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Emerald One Room at the Capital Plaza Hotel in Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Midland Hospice Care and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. Private burial of Jim and Shirley’s cremains will be at Silver Lake Cemetery at a later date. davidsonfuneral.com.
