James "Jimmy" F. Bailey

James “Jimmy” F. Bailey, Jr., age 73, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.  Jimmy was born August 2, 1946 in Topeka the son of James and Ruth (Johnson) Bailey.  Jimmy grew up in Topeka, graduating from Shawnee Heights High School.  Jimmy proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1968.  He served as a cook for a time while in the Army.  Jimmy lived in Topeka his entire life, working at various jobs.  Jimmy was very skilled and worked very hard for places, such as Bob Grinky Tree Service, Brown Tree Service, Metzger Tent Rental for many years, and he worked in mobile home demolition.  When Jimmy wasn’t helping people fix things, he enjoyed fishing, playing cards and listening to gospel music.  Jimmy is survived by two brothers, William Johnson of Topeka, Ray Bailey of Topeka; two sisters, Mary Lou Keiner of Alfa, Florida and Shirley Bailey of Topeka, and many friends.  He will be missed my many.
