James Frisbie Lindley
James Frisbie Lindley, 88, Grantville, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at his home. He was born July 22, 1927, at Saint Joseph, Missouri, the son of Roy E. and Helen (Frisbie) Lindley.
He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He graduated from the University of Kansas as an Electrical Engineer. He worked for K.P.L. and then founded Midwest Line Builders. He farmed and raised Registered Black Angus cattle. He was a member of Central Park Christian Church and the American Angus Association.
Jim was married to Jo (Sippel) Vickland on June 3, 1972, in Topeka.
Surviving are his wife, Jo, of the home; a daughter: Lynda Smallback (Jim) of Topeka; two grandsons: Joshua Smallback (Angela) of Grantville and Seth Smallback of Topeka; and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.
Jim will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Friday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday.
