James Edward Hughes
James Edward Hughes, 37, of Topeka, passed away Monday, August 21, 2006 at his home.
James was born November 19, 1968, the son of Joseph and G. Irene Lial. He was raised in North Carolina and Georgia and later served in the U.S. Military. James was Youth Pastor at West Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clarissa, and his children, Michael, Austin, Ema, Dakota, Kristen, and Nikki, and seven brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Autumn, and two brothers.
A funeral service for Mr. Hughes will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2006 at West Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be at Rochester Cemetery. He will lie in state after 12 noon on Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, where a visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 that evening. Memorial contributions may be given to West Ridge Baptist Church Youth Group, 5600 SW 17th, Topeka, KS 66604 or to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road,
Topeka, Kansas 66604 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Eastern Kansas Branch, 5350 SW 17th, P.O. Box 4029, Topeka, Kansas 66604-4029.
