James Allen "Jim" Eddy, 88, Topeka, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022.
Jim was born February 25, 1934, in Barberton, Ohio, the son of Robert and Erma (Cheadle) Eddy. He graduated from Copley High School in 1951 and attended Akron University.
Jim served in the Army Reserves for nine years.
Jim was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, retiring after 33 years.
On December 22, 1961 he married Barbara Ann Bender in Barberton, Ohio. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Andrew "Jim" Eddy on January 14, 2000 and a sister, Lois.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth A. Robertson and Marjorie A. Hunter; four grandchildren, Brian Owens, Jacob Mason, Ian Hunter, and Dylan Hunter; and brother, Nelson Eddy.
Jim was a great woodworker creating various pieces including furniture, frames and small decorations. He enjoyed sports including golf, bowling, and baseball/softball. Jim also enjoyed traveling, visiting national parks, golf resorts and Amish communities.
A graveside service will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th & Menoken Rd, Topeka. A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 pm Monday, August 8, 2022 at Parker-Price Funeral Home.
