James Edward "Ed" McDonald, Sr.
James E. "Ed" McDonald, Sr., 75, Topeka, died Sat., April 14, 2007. Ed retired from the U.S. Air Force and later was a self-employed logger. He was married to Helen I. Daugherty. They were divorced. She survives. Others survivors are a daughter: Diana L. Huntsman; 2 sons: James. E. McDonald, Jr. and David W. McDonald; 2 step-daughters: Susan Mann and Patsy Darnell (DeFuniak Springs, FL); a sister: Annie Ruth Nelson Turner; a brother: Robert E. McDonald; 13 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca McDonald, on May 15, 1985; his parents: R.H. McDonald and Ruth Nelson; a grandson, Darren L. Shaver; a step-granddaughter, Kyla R. Shaver; and a brother, Harold McDonald. Committal of cremains will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 23, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth.
