James M. Bryant, age 71, of Topeka, formerly from Oregon, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Atria Hearthstone in Topeka. Jim was born July 20, 1948 in Sanger, California the son of Frank and Dessie (Kitchens) Bryant. Jim grew up in Oregon attending school there. He would serve in the U.S. Army from 1965 – 1968 during Vietnam. After being discharged from the Army, he would work as a commercial painter in Oregon and Washington. He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Variz of Cottonwood, California and Carlyon (Tom) Tipton of Berryton, KS and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bryant; a sister, Patsy Peterson and a brother-in-law, Al Variz.
Graveside services will be Monday, January 27, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS with Army honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
