James "Jim" R. Adams

James "Jim" R. Adams, age 81, of Topeka, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 5, 2021 at home in Topeka with his two daughters by his side.  Jim was born January 7, 1940 in Wewoka, OK the son of Luther and Lela Adams.  Jim graduated from Davenport High School in 1958.  He served in the U.S. Army where he was a 4 ^th class radio operator serving from 1958 – 1961.  He married Marge Penrod, they later divorced.  Jim worked at Santa Fe Railroad in Management Systems from 1966 – 1996.   He also worked as an antique dealer and owned and operated Treasure Trove Antiques in Topeka from 1985 – 2019.  He enjoyed showing dogs as a professional handler from 1965 – 2000.

Jim is survived by two daughters, Joy (Jeffery) Eriks and Jodi (Jeffrey) Sturgeon, both of Topeka; a sister, Barbara Vinzant of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Samantha (Kaine), James, Michael (Jenna) and Kasey (Patrick);  four great grandchildren and three granddogs and one great granddog.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kennel Club and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
