Jackie Sue Lyden, 53, Topeka, died Thurs., Sept. 6, 2012, at Midland Hospice House.
She was born Jan. 1, 1959, in Topeka, the daughter of Clarence H. and Willma L. (Stewart) Lyden. Heaven is sweeter today. There is another bud in the Master's bouquet. Jackie Sue was still a bud because she was born with Down Syndrome, one of God's special people that he placed in our family to teach us a special kind of love. Jackie was full of hugs that she gladly shared with a cute little giggle. She was the New Year's baby in Topeka that year. We will always remember her for her hugs and giggles and while we sorrow today she is all smiles, we feel sure of that. Jackie participated in TARC for 50 years and had lived at Sheltered Living the past 27 years.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Sherry A. Musick (Ron) and Joetta Lady (Gary) both of Topeka; a brother: Howard L. Lyden of Independence, MO; nephews: Scott Musick, Chad Lady, Jeremy Lyden and Jason Lady; nieces: Jennifer Hendrix, Wendy Barnett, Debra Musick, and Amanda Lady; many great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; many aunts and uncles; and many extended family members both at TARC and Sheltered Living.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew: James David Lady; great-nephew: Matthew Sterling Lady; and great-great-niece: Marcela Diane Musick.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Wed., Sept. 12, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave. Interment in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue.
