Jack Wayne Streeter, age 85, of Grantville, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 in Topeka. Jack was born October 6, 1931 in Topeka the son of Jack and Edith Vowels Streeter. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Patty Grooms June 18, 1955 in Topeka. Jack worked for Santa Fe Railroad as an electrician for over 42 years. Jack was a member of the Countryside Christian Church, the American Legion Post #400, Meriden V.F.W. Post #1850, NARVRE and OLD Timers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Streeter. He is survived by his wife, Patty of over 62 years; a son, Jere (Kathee) Streeter of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters, Faye Streeter of Grantville and Christy Shrimplin of Topeka; three brothers, Melvin of Oklahoma City, John of Wamego and Keith of Topeka; two sisters, Darlene Broadbent of Topeka and Betty Rees of Garnett; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Penwell Gable Memorial Park Cemetery. He will lay in state Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
