Jack Lee "Jackie" Bowers, 66, of Topeka passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born March 26, 1955 to George W. and Leota M. Bowers at Forbes Field Air Force Base in Topeka, KS. He was the oldest of six children and lived in several cities working as migrant workers until the family settled in Topeka during the early 1970s. He made his living working as a self-employed salesman until his passing. He loved to be around others and would help them whenever it was in his power to do so. He would go out of his way to brighten your day and make you feel loved. He was a man of many talents. He enjoyed recreational activities, treasure hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife LaVerna C. Acuña of Glendale, AZ; three children, Cecil L. Acuña of Tempe, AZ, Enrique Acuña and wife of Avondale, AZ, Rachel D. D. Acuña and husband of Glendale, AZ; sisters Nancy L. Evertson of Topeka, KS, Mary Ann Walton of Winter Haven, FL, Jimmy L. Bowers of Topeka, KS, as well as five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers, David and Billy Bowers.
