Jack W. Attig, Sr. age 85, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at his home in Topeka. Jack was born May 26, 1933 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania the son of Robert Attig and Mildred Wyland Attig. He married Lura Ann Siefkas on July 15, 1961 in Belaire, MD. Three children were born to this union. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy where he retired in 1971 as Chief Petty Officer. He then became a Revenue Officer for the IRS, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post #400 where he served as past Commander and the Phillip Billard V.F.W. Post #1650. Jack enjoyed playing golf and his morning coffee with the guys at McDonalds. He also was a season ticket holder at Kansas State Football games. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jane and a great granddaughter, Adelina. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lura; his children, Jack Jr., Tracy and Melissa; his beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Kaitlyn and Emily; joyous great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Savanna, Jacob, Nash, Jaxon, Rudy and Porter.

Memorial services will be Monday, October 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Private family inurnment will be at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of Jackson Humane Society in Holton, KS and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
