J. June Henoch
J. June Henoch, 83, Topeka, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Topeka.
Mrs. Henoch taught music and elementary education in Enterprise and the Seaman school district in Topeka. She also worked as an aide in the Kansas Legislature.
Mrs. Henoch was born June 13, 1919, in Netawaka, the daughter of Walter and Marie Shannon Cochren. She had lived in Whiting, Enterprise, Lawrence, Horton and Atchison before moving to Topeka in 1963.
Mrs. Henoch was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Knife and Fork Club, Topeka Community Concert, Women of the Moose Lodge No. 1091. She was a life member of The University of Kansas Alumni Association and a former member of the PEO and National Association of Professional Educators.
She married Dr. N. Bruce Henoch on June 24, 1945, in Whiting. He died Jan. 3, 2003. A son, Richard B. Henoch, died Jan. 27, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Rex W. Henoch, Olathe; a daughter, Donna Karlen, Olathe; a brother, William Cochren, Whiting; two sisters, Joy Manion, Salina, and Betty Scheid, Whiting; and two grandchildren.
There will be a double service for Mr. and Mrs. Henoch at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, 600 S.W. Topeka Blvd. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery. They will lie in state after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
