Ivan F. Ostrander, 86, of Topeka passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was born in Elmont, Kansas on September 30, 1937 the son of Edward and Blanch Jackson Ostrander. Ivan grew up in North Topeka and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1957. He worked at Hankamers Construction from 1957 to 1962, He worked at the Topeka Water Department as a foreman from 1962 until retiring in 1994. Ivan moved to Lake Wabaunsee. He loved fishing and spent a lot of time doing just that.
Ivan married Carol Heston in November of 1959. They divorced in 1988.
Survivors include his children, Brent D. Ostrander of Amarillo, Texas, Angela M. Booth (Wendell) of Topeka; Craig F. Ostrander of Topeka, Todd J. Ostrander (Dawn) of Meriden, Kansas; grandchildren, David, Travis, Taryn, Ashli, Taylor, Jacob, Tinley, Dennon, Mason and Caroline; 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Ivan was preceded in death by 10 siblings, Thelma Lister, John Ostrander, Marie Rogers, Donald Ostrander, William Ostrander, Everett Ostrander, Eldon Ostrander, Charles Ostrander, Eugene Ostrander and Lloyd Ostrander.
He loved being with family and friends. He always seemed happy and was the life of the party.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm at the Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence, Topeka Ks 66608 on Friday, February 2, 2024. Interment will follow in the Half-Day Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 pm Thursday evening at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Oakley Place or Midland Hospice.
