OBITUARY: Isadore George "Issy" Stang
Isadore George Stang, 83, Topeka, died Fri. evening, Dec. 22, 2006, at Colmery-O'Neil VAMC. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Topeka, the son of Joseph and Josephine C. (Kaberline) Stang.
Issy was a retired sheet rocker and carpenter. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Capitol Post # 1 of the American Legion. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He was married to Mary Louise Gassen on Aug. 19, 1948, at Higginsville, MO. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Arthur Stang, on Aug. 29, 2002.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter: Linda Marie Day, of Topeka; a son: Robert Louis Stang of Topeka; 8 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
