Irene M. Langston, 79, of Topeka, passed away, Friday, December 30, 2005 at the home of her daughter.
She was born December 31, 1925 in McDonald, Kansas the daughter of James H. and Thelma Brown Tippin, Sr..
Irene grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas where she met and married Dale E. Fisher Langston January 6, 1947.
During World War II she worked on the West Coast building Black Widow Aircraft for the war effort. The remainder of her life was devoted to raising and enjoying her family and grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death August 10, 1995. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Gerald Tippin. She is survived by her children, Gwen (Tom) Stanley, Bonnie (Rudy) Cuevas, Bethe (Carl) Titsworth, Ronald (Cynthia) Langston; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Venita) Tippin, Clarence (Joyce) Tippin.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Langston will lie in state after 12:00 noon Tuesday at the Penwell Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
