Ione T. Williams

Ione T. Williams, 89, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.   She was born December 12, 1930 at Butler, South Dakota the daughter of William Frederick and Diana Regneir Herr.   Ione graduated from high school at Grand Rapids, Minnesota.   She worked in the business office at Memorial Hospital in Topeka. She was quite active at Papan’s Landing Senior Center in North Topeka.

She was married to Ronald F. Williams in 1951. Ronald preceded her in death on June 27, 1968.

Survivors include her sons, Gregg F. Williams and wife Roxann of Topeka, Billy Joe Williams and wife Vicki of Topeka and Carl H. Williams and wife Linda of Basehor, Kansas, daughter, Ronda Geisen and husband Jon of Mayetta, Kansas; son-in-law, Rick Elder; brother, Joseph W. Herr and wife Loretta of Grand Rapids, MN; sisters, Eloise H. Crumrine and husband Gilbert of Cheyenne, WY, Elaine C. Allen and husband Larry “Bud” of Meriden and Rosabelle R. Harris and husband Martin of Scranton, Kansas; 10 grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Ione was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Marie Elder; sisters, Florence M. Burt, Olive Hogge, infant sister Alma Ann Herr; and brother, Lawrence Herr.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Papan’s Landing Senior Center or to Meals on Wheels of Northeast Kansas. Davidson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
