Ileen Lois Hannon
Ileen Lois Hannon, 97, Topeka, died Saturday, April 29, 2017, at her home. She was born May 18, 1919, at Del Norte, Colorado, the daughter of William Leonard and Hazel Lois (Respher) Slout.
She graduated from Del Norte High School. She had lived in the San Luis Valley of Colorado; Wichita, Kansas; and Cherokee Village, Arkansas before moving to Topeka to be near her daughter. Ileen was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Ileen was married to Floyd B. Hannon, Jr. on November 28, 1940, in Wichita. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2015, after celebrating 75 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, William E. Slout; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jeanne Hannon.
Surviving are a daughter: Mary Ann Howerton (Bill) of Topeka; a son: Floyd B. "Trae" Hannon III (Joan) of Greenfield, Indiana; sister-in-law: Margaret Slout of Fort Collins, Colorado; four grandchildren: Sandy Sebastion (Jerry) of Carmel, Indiana, Robert Hannon (Mimi) of Missouri, Steve Hannon of Carmel, Indiana, and Stephanie Lightfoot (Shawn) of Topeka; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a nephew and two nieces: Mike Hannon (Randy), Cheri Jackson, and Kris Merten (Richard) all of Wichita, Kansas.
Committal services will be at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, 1000 North Hillside, Wichita, Kansas.
