Howard Johnston, peacefully passed away on February 7, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 20, 1939, in Wisner, Louisiana. Howard grew up in Silsbee, Texas, graduating from Silsbee High School. He later attended Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. He lived a life characterized by hard work and integrity, with commitment to both his career and his family. 

Howard had a distinguished career at Goodyear and Waste Management companies, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills. His professional accomplishments were matched by his dedication to excellence and integrity, earning him respect among his colleagues. 

In addition to his professional endeavors, Howard honorably served in the U.S. Air Force at Forbes Field in Topeka, Kansas, where he exhibited courage and commitment to his country. Service played a significant role in shaping the values he carried throughout his life. 

Howard is survived by his two sons, Jeff Johnston (Fairway Ks) and Aaron Johnston (New Palz, NY) and daughter Gayla Ungerer (Plano Tx). He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxanna Johnston (Tenpenny). Together, they shared a profound bond, one that impacted those around them. Howard and Roxanna have 9 grandchildren. Ben and Madeline Johnston. Sam and Maysn (Morse) Ungerer. Adrian, Candela, Vivi, Nina Grace and Alexander Johnston. They have 3 great grandchildren, as well. 

He will be deeply missed, but his memory will be cherished by those who had the enjoyment of knowing him.

No services are planned at this time, and Howard will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
