Henry J. "Jack" Rogers, 84 of Topeka, Kansas passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Aldersgate Village. He was born June 13, 1921 in Forest Hill, LA, the son of Kirby B. and Jessie Jackson Rogers.
Jack farmed in Jefferson and Osage Counties. He worked as a mechanic for over 30 years for the local Buick dealer in Topeka and worked at Weststar Energy. Jack had a private pilot license and was active with the Kansas Flying Farmers and served as state chapter president.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Opal K. Rogers January 31, 1990.
Jack is survived by a son Michael Rogers, of Port Neches, TX; two brothers, Herbert Rogers, Perry, KS; Kirby Rogers, Topeka; three sisters, LaRue Rogers, Topeka; Shirley Williams, Riverside, CA; and Vivian Boettcher, Topeka.
Jack will lie in state after 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
