Helen Wickham
Helen Wickham, 93, Topeka, formerly of Wichita, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Midland Hospice House.
Helen was born, June 28, 1914 in Rossville, the daughter of Thomas and Katherine (Slansky) Cerny.
She graduated from Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1939. She worked for the V. A. Hospital in Wichita during World War II and later for Wesley Hospital and family practice physicians in Wichita. She retired in 1979.
Helen married Wendell Helms in 1941. He died in 1967. She later married James Wickham in 1985. He died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kay in 1963.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Inurnment will take place in White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Humane Society, 4218 Southeast Boulevard, Wichita, Kansas 67210-1693.
