Helen S. Richard

Helen S. Richard, age 99, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 at the FW Huston Medical Center, senior care unit at Winchester, KS.  Helen was born January 31, 1921 in Concordia, Kansas the daughter of W.J. and Irene (Clark) Gregory.  Helen graduated from Osborn High School.  She married Herbert Smithers, they later divorced.  She married Ruda Richard, he preceded her in death March 17, 1988.  Helen worked for the U.S. Civil Service.  She enjoyed traveling.  Helen was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Linda Smithers and grandson, Steve Smithers.  She is survived by a son, Wayne (Agnes) Smithers of Ozawkie; a granddaughter, Sandra Smithers-Owen; a grandson, Kenneth (Teri) Smithers and two great grandsons, Scott and Travis Owen.

Private inurnment will be Friday at Rochester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the FW Huston Medical Center in Winchester, Kansas.  davidsonfuneral.com.
