Helen Pauline Johnson Rodgers



Helen Rodgers, 84, of Topeka passed away Friday, February 29, 2008.

She was born December 26, 1923, in Topeka, the daughter of Arthur R. and Edith M. (Peterson) Johnson. She lived in Topeka most all of her life and is a graduate of Topeka High School. She worked at Stormont-Vail Hospital in admissions and later as a business manager, retiring in 1983.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents; a sister, Melvina Jean Johnson Moore; and a son, Rodney L. North, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Kinder Bradshaw and her husband, Chuck; four grandchildren, Angela Francis of Peyton, CO, Lisa Litcoff of North Easton, MA, Laurie North Alejos and Rodney L. North, Jr. of Topeka. She also had nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rodgers will be 10:00 AM Friday, March 7, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Newman, KS. Mrs. Rodgers will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Friday one hour prior to the service.
